Löwen Rüti

The Löwen has been owned by the political municipality of Rüti ZH since 1916. Stories can be traced back to the year 1650.

History

The Löwen was then called 'Ziegelhütte' and has been a large estate during more than 200 years. Besides the restaurant, it has consisted of a brick manufacture, a transport company, a farm and a wood and coal merchant's business. Following the acquisition by the community, the property has hosted the municipal office above the restaurant until 1942. Since the reconstruction, the Löwen has been a pure restaurant with a hall.
