Discover in a playful way
Frescos from the 13th century and comprehensive coin and weapon collections appeal to both young and old. Young visitors may playfully experience history on the round tour for children called «Seafaring, Cinnamon and Swallowtail».
The epochal herb garden behind the servants' house is structured according to the eras of the Ancient World, the Middle Ages, the Colonial Era and a herb garden today and carries you off into a world of colours, smells and tastes, medicines and traditions of foreign cultures. Let yourself be inspired by the building and its history and enjoy the medieval atmosphere at our bistro.
Current exhibitions and events
Construction site trail: In 2021, the Ritterhaus draws attention to the fragility and sensitivity of the historic building. Some of the walls of the Ritterhaus are over 800 years old. The plaster on the walls, the frescos, the floors and the stoves are old and fragile. They need to be renovated or restored. But what is the difference between restoring and renovating?
Nine construction sites have been installed in the Ritterhaus and there is something extraordinary to discover at each one. Solve various tasks during a tour and get to the bottom of the puzzles. You can also take part in a public guided tour and get unique impressions. Dates and other events at the Ritterhaus can be found in the calendar of events.
